Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 17, 2026
1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy describes how TheLEICorp, an operating unit of The Reporting Company, LLC ("TheLEICorp," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and discloses personal information submitted through https://www.theleicorp.com/ (the "Site"). TheLEICorp is a Registration Agent for accredited Local Operating Units ("LOUs") and helps legal entities obtain, renew, and transfer Legal Entity Identifiers ("LEIs"). TheLEICorp is not itself an LEI issuer.
The Reporting Company, LLC is the data controller for personal information processed through the Site. References to TheLEICorp in this Policy include The Reporting Company, LLC acting in that capacity.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly. When you request a quote, submit the contact form, or initiate an LEI registration, renewal, or transfer, you typically provide:
- your name, business name or job title, email address, and telephone number;
- information about the legal entity for which an LEI is being requested, including its legal name, address, jurisdiction of formation, registration identifiers, and information about direct and ultimate parent entities where required by GLEIF policy;
- any free-text content you include in the message field of the contact form.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site we (and certain third-party services described below) automatically collect limited technical information including IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type and version, referring URL, and pages visited.
Anti-abuse challenge data. The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. When you submit the form, Turnstile evaluates a challenge token in your browser and transmits a short-lived verification token, along with limited request metadata, to Cloudflare for the sole purpose of distinguishing humans from automated traffic. We receive only the verification result.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- provide LEI registration, renewal, transfer, and related services, including submitting LEI records to the relevant LOU on your behalf;
- respond to your inquiries and communicate with you about your requests;
- comply with legal and regulatory obligations, including those imposed on Registration Agents by GLEIF and accredited LOUs (e.g. RapidLEI / Ubisecure);
- detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse of the Site;
- operate, secure, monitor, and improve the Site.
4. How We Share Information
We share personal information only as needed to provide the services and operate the Site:
- Accredited LOUs and GLEIF. Information required to issue, renew, or transfer an LEI — including legal-entity reference data and, where applicable, parent-entity data — is transmitted to the accredited LOU you are registering with (currently RapidLEI / Ubisecure Inc.) and, through the LOU, into the Global LEI System maintained by GLEIF. Once published in the Global LEI System, legal-entity reference data is public.
- Cloudflare, Inc. Provides the Turnstile anti-abuse challenge described in Section 2 and content-delivery services.
- Amazon Web Services, Inc. Hosts our backend infrastructure (including the contact-form endpoint) and delivers transactional email through Amazon Simple Email Service (SES).
- Service providers acting on our behalf under appropriate contractual protections (for example, error monitoring and analytics where used).
- Where required by law, regulation, court order, or other legal process.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies to operate session state, remember preferences, and measure aggregate usage. Cloudflare Turnstile may set short-lived cookies or local-storage entries solely to perform its anti-abuse challenge. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies; some features of the Site may not function as intended without them.
6. Data Retention
We retain contact-form submissions and registration correspondence for as long as necessary to provide our services, respond to subsequent inquiries, comply with applicable laws and LOU requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. LEI records and the underlying legal entity reference data submitted to an LOU are retained by that LOU and by GLEIF in accordance with the policies of the Global LEI System and remain part of the public Global LEI Index.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is fully secure; we therefore cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights with respect to your personal information. These include, where applicable:
- California residents (CCPA / CPRA): the right to know what categories of personal information we have collected about you, the right to request access to or deletion of that information, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA.
- EEA / UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR): the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our lawful bases for processing are typically (i) the performance of a contract with you, (ii) compliance with a legal obligation, (iii) our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Site, and (iv) your consent where required.
Note that data published in the Global LEI System is public by design under GLEIF policy and is not, as a practical matter, eligible for deletion through us. To exercise any of the rights above with respect to data we control, please contact us using the information in Section 11.
9. International Transfers
TheLEICorp is operated from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, the information you submit may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions in which we or our service providers operate. By using the Site you acknowledge such transfers, subject to the rights described in Section 8.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice on the Site.
